About
Hans is a Director at Toffler Associates, with more than 20 years of experience in future scenario planning and development, as well as workshop and panel design to drive knowledge elicitation for academic, commercial, military, and federal clients. Hans is an expert facilitator and considered an industry leader, whose perspectives on strategic foresight, as well as security, risk, and protection have appeared in publications, such as Sports Illustrated (November 2018). He has been a featured speaker for companies (various) and industry organizations, such as the Global Security Exchange (2019), The Risk Management Society (2017, 2018), and the Army Mad Scientist Series (2018). He serves as a member of the Intelligence Community Studies Board at the National Academy of Sciences and served the Futurist on the National Academy's consensus report on the Future of Encryption. He is currently the Chair of the Forum on the Revolution in Intelligence Affairs at the National Academy. and the committee on the Revolution in Intelligence Affairs.
Hans has served as a Congressional staff member, worked at the Department of State, and was a Robert Bosch Foundation Fellow in Germany. Hans earned a B.A. with honors in History from Williams College and an M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
